About us

A community built by people who understand.

SaintlySingles exists for one simple reason: faithful singles in Australia and New Zealand deserve a genuine, trusted way to find each other — and nothing out there was built for them.

Why we built SaintlySingles

Australia and New Zealand are big, beautiful places — and that's part of the problem. Members seeking romance or friendship are often challenged to find single members their own age that they have not met before. And national or state Singles Conventions are too infrequent and travel can be expensive. Meeting someone who shares your faith and your values isn't as simple as it should be.

The big "dating" sites haven't helped. Even the ones professing to serve the LDS community. They're built for a single purpose, dating, and none of them understand the standards or the culture and the distances that shape life for Aussie and Kiwi members. Often poorly designed and poorly managed they've fallen short, again and again, of serving the unique needs of our community.

So two members — one in Australia, one in Utah — decided to build what was missing: a quality, trusted meeting place designed and run by Church members, with Church standards at its heart, made specifically for Australia and New Zealand. And backed by responsive support when you have a tech issue.

More than a dating site

SaintlySingles was never meant to be just another matching game. For many of us, what's missing isn't a romantic match — it's friendship, conversation and connection with people who "get it".

Here, there's no pressure to be matched. Join a get-together, start a conversation, make a friend. If something more grows from that, wonderful. If you simply find your people, that's a win too. Friendship and connection are the point.

The people behind it

Portrait of David Malpas

David Malpas

Founder / CEO

David holds dual Australian and US citizenship and splits his time between the two countries. A widowed single member of the Church, he knows first-hand how hard it can be to meet other singles — across vast distances, or an ocean. He has served in many callings, including Elders' Quorum President, bishopric counsellor, singles representative and part-time service missionary.

Co-founder & Chief Technology Officer

Eric is a member of the Church in Utah and the developer behind SaintlySingles. A returned missionary, he has twice served as a bishop and as a bishopric counsellor in YSA wards at BYU — experiences that gave him a deep appreciation for the difference the right community can make in a single member's life.
